Project Description

This bold exterior project took place in the scenic suburb of Franklin Park, PA, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the North Hills. The homeowner, Mary Ann, reached out to Four Pillars Paint for her very first home repaint—an important milestone that came with both excitement and hesitation.

The project included repainting approximately 200 linear feet of fascia and soffit trim and restaining her front door frame to complement her recently installed cherry-toned garage doors. With a budget of $5,000 and a 3-day turnaround, the focus was on high-end curb appeal with durable, vibrant finishes.

The scope may sound simple, but the results were far from ordinary.

Background/Story:

Mary Ann had never tackled a house painting project before. As someone new to making design decisions, she wasn’t sure how to bring out the best in her home’s exterior. She wanted a bold and striking look—but didn’t know where to start. That’s when GianCarlo from Four Pillars Paint knocked on her door, offering a consultation that didn’t just sell a service, but built trust.

From the first interaction, Mary Ann expressed her desire to create something unique, something that felt hers. She had just invested in elegant cherry garage doors and wanted the rest of her home to reflect that same richness.

With no prior painting experience, she relied heavily on our guidance in choosing the right colors, finishes, and application methods. Her trust in Four Pillars Paint grew with each step of the process—from color consultation to the final brushstroke.

The experience became a collaborative journey. Mary Ann was amazed not only by the transformation of her home but also by how smooth and stress-free the entire process felt. In her own words from her 5-star

Scope of Services

  • Initial Walkthrough & Color Consultation: Met with Mary Ann onsite to assess the existing paint condition of the fascia, soffit, and front door frame. Discussed her design goals, reviewed color samples, and helped her confidently select bold tones that would complement her new cherry garage doors.
  • Surface Preparation: Thoroughly cleaned all fascia and soffit areas using pressure washing to remove dirt, mildew, and loose debris. Lightly sanded and scraped surfaces where needed to create a clean, uniform base. Primed bare or weathered areas with Sherwin-Williams Multi-Purpose Primer for optimal adhesion.
  • Trim Repainting – Fascia & Soffit: Applied two full coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Rain-Refresh in Arresting Auburn to all exterior fascia and soffit—approximately 200 linear feet. Used a combination of brush and roller techniques to ensure smooth, even coverage and crisp lines against the roofline and siding.
  • Front Door Frame Restaining: Carefully sanded the wood frame to remove the existing finish and prep the surface. Applied Sherwin-Williams WoodScapes Solid Stain in Blue Spruce, enhancing the wood grain while delivering a vibrant, weather-resistant finish that visually anchored the front entry.
  • Final Walkthrough & Detailing: Conducted a detailed site review with the homeowner. Performed final touch-ups, removed all protective masking, cleaned the workspace, and ensured all surfaces were completed to Four Pillars Paint‘s standard of excellence. Provided Mary Ann with care instructions for maintaining her home’s fresh new look.

Results:

The finished result was a dramatic and beautiful transformation. The Arresting Auburn trim added warmth and character, tying in perfectly with the cherry garage doors. The Blue Spruce stain on the front door frame introduced just enough contrast for a tasteful, high-end look without overwhelming the entryway.

The colors popped without clashing. The paint finishes were sleek, smooth, and uniform—signaling craftsmanship from every angle.

Mary Ann was beyond thrilled. What started as a hesitant step into home improvement turned into a deeply satisfying experience. She shared glowing praise in her Google review, calling Four Pillars Paint

“Professional, patient, and incredibly skilled.”

Most of all, she felt proud to come home every day to a house that now reflected her taste and style.

At Four Pillars Paint, we take pride in more than just paint—we help homeowners feel confident in their choices and proud of their homes. This Franklin Park project is a perfect example of how even a small scope, when done right, can make a big impression.
