Our Pricing

Exterior painting PA
Full Exterior Painting

Average Cost: $14,000 average full exterior | Starts at $2,000 | $7 to $10 per sq ft of painted surface

We price based on painted surface, siding, trim, soffit, fascia, and doors, not your home’s floor square footage. Where you land in the $7-$10 range comes down to four things: the condition of the existing surface, how many colors are in the scheme, height, and access.

Key Factors Affecting Cost
  • Type of surface

  • Degree of prep work required

  • Replacements

  • Patchwork

  • Heights and difficult access

  • Grade of paint

Full Interior Painting

Average Cost: $4 to $10 per sq ft | $12,000 average full home | Starts at $1,500

Interior pricing depends on which surfaces are included: ceilings, walls, trim (mouldings, paneling, chair rail, wainscot, baseboards, casings), doors, and other detailed surfaces, as well as the required patchwork and the grade of paint selected.

Not every full-interior project includes every surface. That’s a decision we make with you, and it’s one of the biggest levers on your final number.

Key Factors Affecting Cost
  • Surfaces included (ceilings, walls, trim, doors)
  • Patchwork

  • Grade of paint

WHY WE PUBLISH OUR PRICING

Hiding prices doesn’t protect margins.

It destroys trust.

Surface condition can move your price more than square footage

Two homes of the same size can be quoted thousands apart. Peeling paint, water stains, cracked drywall, and failed caulk all have to be dealt with before a drop of finish coat goes on. We’d rather explain that at the estimate than on invoice day.

The estimate is free. Honesty is permanent.

Our on-site estimates take 30 to 60 minutes. You’ll receive a written, itemized quote; no fuzzy line items, no “misc. fees.” If the price changes after you’ve approved the scope, that’s on us to explain.

What this calculator can’t account for

Exact surface condition, the prep required, repairs or replacements, height and access, which surfaces are being painted, and the grade of paint you choose.

Back in your space by morning

Paint dries, life doesn’t wait. In most cases, you’re back to using the space by the next morning.

Why Do Painting Costs Vary?

Every project is different. The calculator is a strong starting point built on real Four Pillars project data. Here’s what we look at before we give you a final price.

Walls with cracks, water stains, or peeling paint need patching, priming, or skim coating before painting can start. The more repair work a surface needs, the higher the prep cost. Clean, smooth surfaces are faster and less expensive to paint.

Vinyl siding, wood, brick, stucco, and drywall all absorb and hold paint differently. Porous or rough materials require more product and more coats, which increases both material and labor.

Flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss each come at different price points. Higher-grade paints with better durability, UV protection, or mold resistance cost more per gallon but often reduce the number of coats needed.

Multi-story homes, steep rooflines, vaulted ceilings, and sloped lots take more time and more equipment to paint safely. Access is one of the six factors we price on the exterior side.

Painting a vacant home is faster. When furniture needs to be moved, covered, and protected, it adds hours. We handle it either way, but vacancy affects total time on site.

Standard and premium paints have real cost differences. We use professional-grade products on every job and will walk you through the options that fit your budget and stand up to Western Pennsylvania winters, freeze-thaw cycles, and humid summers.

Full exterior projects average around $14,000 and start at $2,000. Where yours lands depends on the type of surface, the degree of prep, replacements, patchwork, height and access, and the grade of paint.

No. The calculator gives you a realistic range based on what you tell us. Your actual price comes after a free walkthrough where we look at the surfaces, scope, and prep needs in person. That’s the number we put in writing.

Prep work is one of several factors that affect your final price. Surfaces needing patching, sanding, priming, or repair take more time and product. Beyond prep: which surfaces are included, room and ceiling height, paint grade, number of coats, and number of colors.

Yes. Four Pillars Paint provides a 5-year warranty covering workmanship and product defects.

A full interior repaint of a 2,800 sq ft home typically takes about 10 days. Exterior projects run a similar timeline, roughly 10 days for a comparable home, depending on surface condition and access.
